I grew up in southern California where wildfires were so anticipated they had their own season designated to them just like fall or winter. We never had any snow days but we occasionally got ash days when the sky was so dark and gray that it was unsafe to even venture outside to go to school. This series portrays the paradox of fire as something that is equally beautiful and destructive. I will be exploring warmer color palettes and utilizing palette knives to create texture that mimics that of flames. Feel free to reach out to learn more.
